William John Barrett, 31, a leading stoker on the HMAS Swan, one of the recently arrived destroyer flotilla, died at the Prince Alfred Hospital on Sunday from the effects of lysol poisoning. About 1 am on Sunday he was found on the floor of the kitchen of the house at which he was staying. The lysol bottle was almost emptied and a cup lay on the floor close by.
